About Us

Mark Allen has been working in and with small businesses his entire career.  After graduating from the University of Kansas with degrees in Business and Finance, Mark went to work as a lumber commodities broker and trader opening new territories in the United States.   He started his own lumber and building materials brokerage company and expanded it to include several building materials distribution centers with over 400 associates and distribution in 17 states.  He moved away from the building materials industry in 2002 to explore new opportunities to educate and help businesses.

Since that time, Mark has dedicated his working career to helping small business owners start, grow and expand their businesses.  His main firm, WRS Solutions, works with the U.S. Department of Commerce/Economic Development Administration, the University of Missouri Systems and the Small Business Development Center networks in Missouri, Iowa, and Kansas, and about 40 Midwest manufacturers to educate and connect business owners to finances, resources and opportunities for growth in sales, employment, and profits. 

Additionally, Mark, working with the Small Business Development Centers network, provided Kauffman Foundation NewVenture© and GrowthVenture© training to several thousand entrepreneurs in the United States.
